On August 7, Chengdu and Huawei signed a cooperation agreement on the Kunpeng Ecological Base project, marking the official establishment of Kunpeng Tianfu Laboratory and Kunpeng Ecological Base in Chengdu Tianfu New Area. Fan Ruiping, member of the Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of Municipal Party Committee, met with Guo Ping, Rotating Chairman of Huawei and his delegation. Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee and Mayor Luo Qiang, and Guo Ping attended and witnessed the signing of the agreement.
During the meeting, the two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on further deepening cooperation and promoting the establishment of a long-term strategic partnership of cooperation. Fan Ruiping said that as an outstanding representative of global innovative enterprises, Huawei has global competitiveness in the fields of communication network, IT, intelligent terminals and cloud services. At present, Chengdu's economic operation is progressing steadily and improving steadily, especially in the field of electronic information, which has a good industrial foundation and broad market space. According to the agreement, Chengdu and Huawei will jointly build a Kunpeng transformation platform, a Kunpeng industry solution incubation platform, Huawei's Kunpeng Tianfu Laboratory, and a Kunpeng ecological base display platform to incubate industry solutions based on Kunpeng ecology, jointly build a Kunpeng ecological industrial park, and promote the ecological innovation and development of Kunpeng industry. It is hoped to cultivate a new industrial ecology based on Kunpeng Ecological Base, jointly build a million square meters industrial park, and create a new era of computing industry. It is understood that Huawei has built an online Kunpeng community, providing accelerated libraries, compilers, tool chains, open source operating systems, etc. to help ecological partners and developers quickly master the ability to transfer and tune operating systems, compilers, and applications. Chengdu has joined Huawei in launching Kunpeng Ecological Base, started to lay out Kunpeng Industrial Ecology, grasped the historical opportunity of China's ICT industrial transformation, and built "the second computing plane of open innovation", which is of great significance for Chengdu to build an important national science and technology center, build a world-renowned software research and development center, and promote the high-quality development of urban economy.
